Expected Updates Before 2008 Rolls in!

Ninedays Blog is looking at a moderate overhaul before the new year. There’s a number of things I really need to clean up around the site. I need to do a solid re-evaluation of all these WordPress Plugins. I begin to think that so many of them are slowing the site down and really not performing and helping as much as I had hoped they would.

I need to clean up some displays. I really didn’t put enough thought into the organization of my content and it is beginning to show as I am trying to rapidly add content and edit content to keep everything fresh and as close to perfect as I can get.

I’m missing key functionality that I’m sure you are all missing, like:

  • Search (one of the first things I’m going to re-add)
  • Better archive displays
  • Better SEO (heading tags, title attributes and meta tagging)

I had the search up for a little while when I opened up the blog but with only 5 entries to search it wasn’t worth the time to maintain. Now that we’re up to over 50 posts it’s about time I let you start searching this a little better.

Also I’d like to do a modification of the design. Not really an overhaul or re-design, just take the time to figure out what modules should go where, and why to really make the site better for my readers (all 5 or so of you!)

If you have any input please feel free to drop a comment I’d love to hear what You would like to see more or less of. I’m not just doing this for me. Also I’d really like to see some of my reader’s blogs, ya know, dig into your brain a wee bit!
